Privacy policy

Most privacy policies are long because companies do a lot with your data. This one is short because we don't.

What we collect

• Your email address, if you join our mailing list. That's the only thing we ask for.
• Whatever you choose to send us, if you email us directly.
• Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps routine technical logs, like IP addresses, for security and reliability, the way essentially every website host does.

That's it. No tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, no advertising scripts, no behavioral profiles, no cookies for tracking.

What we do with it

We use your email to send occasional updates about what we're building. We use your messages to reply to you. Nothing else.

What we never do

• Sell your data. To anyone, for any price.
• Rent, trade, or share your data for marketing.
• Track you around the web.

DTI exists because we think data exploitation broke the internet. Exploiting yours would be a strange way to fix it.

Where your data lives

Mailing-list signups are processed and stored by Netlify, which hosts this site. Netlify acts as our data processor and doesn't use your information for its own purposes.

Your control

Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. If you want your address deleted entirely, or want to know exactly what we have (it's your email address), write to info@democratizetheinternet.org and we'll take care of it.

If this ever changes

If DTI ever collects more than what's described here, we'll update this page first and say so in plain language, no silent edits, no legalese.
